Strategic Education Partnership Board

The Strategic Education Partnership Board, chaired by the Leader of the Council, operates at a strategic level, establishing the aspiration, direction and vision and ensuring the engagement and commitment of all partners and provides a mediating tier between schools and central government, as well as linking schools to other key stakeholders and to the wider city policy agenda.

The Strategic Education Partnership (SEP) brings together schools, the council and city partners to agree and connect key educational, skills and employment priorities for Manchester . It will provide the means for the education system to maximise influence and fulfil the vision of a city-wide partnership that will improve aspiration and achievement, support economic growth, reduce poverty and dependency, and create a workforce with high levels of education and skills able to access a range of economically rewarding jobs. The SEP will provide the focal point for commissioning education in the city, and skills across Greater Manchester, enabling schools, the Council and wider stakeholders to discharge their responsibilities collaboratively and to greatest effect at an institutional, people and place level. It will define relationships between schools, further & higher education, the Council, businesses and other key stakeholders based on common purpose and a willingness of partners to join.
