Community Strategy 2006-2015

COMMUNITY STRATEGY 2006 - 2015

Manchester has successfully achieved economic growth and this will continue over the next decade. It is time to focus on social improvements and the new vision incorporates both economic and social growth.

The Community Strategy 2006-2015 was launched on 18 March 2006 at the Manchester International Convention Centre.  Manchester's Local Area Agreement is the three-year action plan for the revised strategy from 1 April 2006.

The Strategy contains a Partner Agreement which has tangible commitments that partners will make to achieve the revised vision.

Mancunian Agreements - a straightforward way for Manchester people to show how everyone can join in the improvement of the city - are also part of the strategy.

A short film encapsulating the aspirations of residents for a better city is included in the strategy. It  illustrates the concepts of neighbourhoods of choice; reaching full potential through employment and education;  self-esteem and mutual respect - three 'spines' that have informed the new vision for Manchester.

Please see The Manchester Conference web page for more information.
