Welcome
The Manchester Partnership makes a difference - to people, to communities, to all those living, studying and working in the city.
The Manchester Partnership, our Local Strategic Partnership (LSP), tackles the toughest problems residents say affect their lives. In doing so, the Partnership is delivering the Community Strategy and the vision for a world-class city by 2015 when Manchester people will live longer, be wealthier and happier.
In making these changes, men and women in Manchester are now living longer; teenage pregnancies have been reduced; fewer homes are burgled and streets are safer.
There is still a great deal of work to do to make Manchester a place where people increasingly choose to live, bring up their children and work.
State of the City reports
Manchester's State of the City reports provide a comprehensive evidence base to inform decisions to improve the city. The reports also provide a progress update on the State of the City indicator framework within the Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement.
Comprehensive Area Assessment 2009
The Comprehensive Area Assessment is a new way of assessing how local public services and public bodies work together to meet the needs of the people they serve.
Community Strategy
By bringing together health, education, transport, police, local people and others, significant improvements are being made. The Manchester Partnership is driving our Community Strategy 2006-2015 and making a difference.
Local Area Agreement
The Local Area Agreement is a three-year agreement between Manchester City Council, its partners and the government and sets out how we will work together to deliver the Community Strategy and improve Manchester's neighbourhoods by 2015. It identifies priorities that most affect the lives of Manchester people and targets which, when achieved, will raise the performance of the city significantly as compared with other cities.
Use the LAA Toolkit. The materials are for partners to read and to share with staff. There is a power point presentation with notes, posters showing cycles of actions that bring the priorities to life, and examples of how things being done today will achieve the vision by 2015.
Mancunian Agreements
Everyone should play a part in contributing towards a better city and a better life if we are going to create a place where the quality of life is second to none. Mancunian Agreements represent a shared set of principles - an agreement between people and their neighbourhood. A number of Mancunian Agreements have now been established and others are coming along.
